Forsyth County officials announced Wednesday that Kevin Tanner has been selected as the sole finalist for the open County Manager position.
The Board of Commissioners took action at a work session on Tuesday, however they have not made their final vote or action. That is expected as early as December 22.
Tanner was previously a Georgia House Representative, leaving the post in 2020 to pursue an unsuccessful bid for Congress. Tanner previously served as the county manager for Dawnson County.
The Forsyth County Manager position was previously held by Eric Johnson for three years, until his contract expired in September 2020 and was not renewed. Former Forsyth County Manager Doug Derrer has served in the interim.
