UGA-Vandy game postponed to Dec. 19

ATHENS — Georgia-Vanderbilt football game, slated for Saturday, has been postponed, according to a press released from UGA on Friday afternoon.

The postponement is due to the Vanderbilt football squad size and position availability falling below roster minimum requirements, consistent with Southeastern Conference COVID-19 protocols.

The two SEC East foes will play the game on December 19. Should Georgia qualify for the SEC Championship Game on December 19, the Vanderbilt at Georgia game would be declared a no-contest and Georgia would represent the Eastern Division in the SEC title game.

The SEC’s COVID-19 management requirements, as developed by the SEC’s Return to Activity and Medical Guidance Task Force, are available on SECsports.com.

It's the third game on the Bulldogs' schedule this season that has been affected by the ongoing pandemic.

Georgia is slated to play a makeup game against Missouri next weekend. They were originally scheduled to play the Tigers on November 14.

Vandy is 0-8 this year and fired head coach Derek Mason last weekend. The Bulldogs (6-2) are No. 8 in the College Football Playoff rankings.
