Despite starting at the back of the field, Chase Elliott raced his way to the lead at Phoenix, and went on to score his first NASCAR Cup Series championship on Sunday.
On this week's Hard Left Turn podcast, Brandon Reed, Pete McCole and Amy Henderson look back at the NCS season finale, including:
-Elliott backed up his win a week ago to get into the Championship 4 by scoring the title with the win at Phoenix.
-The Championship 4 were all within striking distance all day, with Brad Keselowski seeming to have the only car to contend with Elliott.
-Kevin Harvick was expected to be the man to beat at Phoenix, but he was not really part of the discussion all day.
-Jimmie Johnson never contended for the win, but finished fifth in his final full time NASCAR Cup Series start.
-This marked the first year the NASCAR Cup Series ended the season at Phoenix. Did it live up to the hype?
