West Hall picks up first region win over Gilmer

OAKWOOD — West Hall held Gilmer to just 107 total yards of offense en route to a 35-7 win on Friday at Spartan Field.

Senior quarterback Clayton Jenkins led the Spartans (3-6, 1-4 Region 7-3A), passing for 221 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed three times for 31 yards. Rodrigo Lopez caught five of those passes for 81 yards and a score, while Nick Strum hauled in four catches for 55 yards and a score. 

Tilil Blackwell was the Spartans' top rusher, finishing with 74 yards on nine carries and two touchdowns, while Josiah Henriques had five carries for 42 yards and two scores. 

Defensively, Maliek Richardson led the way with 13 tackles, three for a loss, Strum finished with nine tackles, and Jaden White turned in six tackles, caused a fumble and recovered a fumble.
