Republican Emory Dunahoo Jr wins Georgia House 30 race

Republican Emory Dunahoo, Jr. has won against Democrat Leigh Miller in the Georgia House 30 race.

District 30 is entirely contained within Hall County and includes portions of Gainesville, Buford, Oakwood, Flowery Branch, Gillsville and other unincorporated areas.

Emory Dunahoo, Jr. is a businessman and entrepreneur, husband and father. He has raised his family here in Hall county where he has lived for the past 53 years, according to his website

"I am humbled," Dunahoo said. "I have constituents that vote for me, and people that don't vote for me, and it gives me the opportunity work towards helping them with their problems."

Leigh Miller is a Flowery Branch resident, and wife to Eric Miller. She is an attorney by trade, but has been a stay-at-home mother to three kids for a few years.

"I'm so proud of what we've done and what we've accomplished," Miller said. "Of course we're disappointed we didn't win this election, but tomorrow will come and these issues will still be important."
