John Smith scores Super Pro victory at Atlanta Dragway

John Smith only competed a few times over the 2020 season at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia.

But the Gainesville, Georgia racer made his Saturday appearance at the track payoff, as he defeated Ricky Rogers for the Super Pro victory.

In the final, Smith dialed in his 1980 Chevy Monza on a 5.53 and ran a 5.539 ET at 125.45 MPH and a 0.006 reaction time. Rogers dialed in his 1932 Spitzer Bantam Roadster on a 5.13 and ran a 5.146 ET. at 133.80 MPH and a 0.011 reaction.

Other winners on the day included Chris Bowden in Pro, Aaron Kennedy in 5-9 Jr. Dragster, Bladen Core in 10-12 Jr. Dragster and Dawson McLendon in 13-17 Jr. Dragster.
