A ransomware attack on the Hall County government has not impacted the elections process, county officials said Friday.
A news release from the county said "the elections process has not been compromised in any way, and a voter's ability to safely and securely vote is still in place."
While specifics of the attack have not been released, the county confirmed they are continuing to restore services. Phone, email, financial services, the tax commissioner's office, landfill and court system have been restored.
The news of the elections process being unaffected by the ransomware came shortly after the Wall Street Journal published an article regarding information from the county's hacking, along with others, that had been leaked.
