LAURENS, S.C. - Brandon Overton led flag-to-flag, holding off Zack Mitchell for the victory in the Ronnie Brookshire Memorial for the Ultimate Super Late Model Series on Saturday night at South Carolina’s Laurens County Speedway.
The win was worth $4,014 for the Evans, Georgia racer, as he recorded his fifth career series win.
Overton started out the night as the fast qualifier, turning a lap in 13.569 seconds around the high banked, 3/8-mile clay raceway.
Overton jumped to the lead from the start, and went on to beat out Mitchell for the win.
Cla Knight finished in third, with Anthony Sanders in fourth and Adam Yarbrough in fifth.
Jeff Smith, Doug Sanders, Larry Grube, Josh Richeson and John Eller rounded out the top 10.
