TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The online site AL.com reported Saturday that Alabama head coach Nick Saban has been cleared to coach the Crimson Tide on Saturday against Georgia.
Saban received his third consecutive negative test for the COVID-19 virus on Saturday morning. He initially tested positive on Wednesday creating a circumstance where he would not be able to coach his team on the sidelines.
Under SEC protocols, if you test negative for three consecutive days, at least 24 hours apart, after a positive test you can be cleared for activities. The Wednesday test will now be treated as a false positive because of the three straight days of negative results.
