CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Virginia coach Bronco Mendenhall says quarterback Brennan Armstrong suffered a concussion when he was knocked out of the Cavaliers’ 38-21 loss to North Carolina State. The coach also says Armstrong may be available on Saturday for a road game at Wake Forest. Armstrong will have to work through concussion protocols this week and is listed as day-to-day. If he can't go, the Cavaliers will start Lindell Stone, who threw three touchdown passes trying to rally the Cavaliers from a 24-0 hole against the Wolfpack.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse is struggling in this most difficult of seasons as injuries pile up and inexperienced players fill lineup holes where needed. The Orange lost 38-24 to a previously winless Duke team at home on Saturday despite forcing four turnovers. Syracuse scored only seven points off those turnovers and the Blue Devils shredded the Orange defense for 363 yards rushing and 645 total as the offense led by Clemson transfer Chase Brice held the ball for 102 plays and nearly 40 minutes. Orange coach Dino Babers will be without starting quarterback Tommy DeVito for the foreseeable future and standout defensive back Andre Cisco, a preseason All-American, is out for the season.
