Gainesville water customers to experience outage

Some Gainesville water customers will experience a service interruption Wednesday, Jan. 29, to allow for water main improvements.

According to the Gainesville Department of Water Resources, the outage is expected to last from approximately 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., impacting customers on the following streets: Basin Court, Basin Drive, Basin Road, Briarwood Drive, Bridgewater Circle, Bridgewater Drive, Brittany Court, Cleveland Highway, Colonial Circle, Colonial Drive, Cove Road, Dunlap Mill Road, Elysian Circle, Fox Creek Trail, Gary Street, Hawthorne Lane, Hawthorne Place, Imperial Drive, Katherine Circle, Little River Park Road, Longstreet Way, North Oaks Drive, North Oaks Place, Northbanks Cove, Northlake Road, Old Dunlap Mill Road, Parker Road, Parker Trail, Pass Circle, Pine Tree Circle, Pine Tree Trail, Pinebrook Drive, Randall Street, River Drive, Ryans Place, River View Drive, Riverwood Drive, Silver Circle, Skyline Drive, Sweetbay Drive (Atlanta Botanical Garden), Tapawingo Drive, Thompson Mill Road, Thompson Overlook, Wahoo Place and Wayman Drive.

Customers are urged to take necessary precautions to prevent damage to any equipment requiring water. Construction work will take place in the area of the Cleveland Highway bridge. Those navigating the area are urged to drive carefully and watch for construction workers and equipment during this time. The city thanks the public for its patience during this progress and apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
