Westbound traffic on Jesse Jewell Parkway is slowed in the area of West Academy Street due to ongoing work related to the Gainesville Department of Water Resources’ utility relocation project.
Underground utility work is underway at the Jesse Jewell and West Avenue intersection, where both westbound lanes have been shut down until further notice. All westbound traffic is being funneled into one lane until just before Queen City Parkway, where the flow of traffic returns to normal.
Motorists navigating the area are urged to drive carefully and watch for construction workers and equipment.
