*The O. Wayne Rollins Planetarium at Young Harris College will host “Explore” on Jan. 24, Jan. 31, Feb. 21 and Feb. 28. *Barrow County’s latest  CERT FEMA training class begins Feb. 24 and will continue until April 13. *An American Birch at North Hall Park has been crowned Hall County Champion Tree by the Georgia Forestry Commission, according to Hall County Parks & Leisure Services.  Click here for more about the size of the tree and a picture of it.

*Weekday overnight lane closures (8:00-5:30) begin Monday and continue for six months on State Route 316 eastbound from State Route 81 to Harry McCarty Road in Barrow County.  Workers will be replacing sections of concrete on 316 under the new SR 81 bridge.  

*Hall County Drug Court will mark a milestone Jan. 31:  its 100th graduation ceremony.   The Superior Court of the Northeastern Judicial Circuit will conduct the ceremony at 1:00 at First Baptist Church on Green Street.
