*The Georgia Mountains Regional Commission Career Coach will be at the Cumming Library Jan. 9, 10:00-2:00, and at the Spout Springs Library in Flowery Branch Jan. 15, 10:00-2:00, to offer assistance to job-seekers.

*The Chattahoochee Riverkeeper has several "river cleanups" on tap this year, including one land-based event in Gainesville in March at Don Carter State Park.  More about this year's plans can be found here

*A longtime Cumming City Councilman, Lewis Ledbetter, was honored recently by city officials as he made plans to retire from the board.   Ledbetter was on the council 49 years.

*Suwanee BeerFest tickets go on sale Jan. 10.   The 10th annual event is scheduled March 14.  Tickets and more information are available at SuwaneeBeerFest.com. 

*Keith Dickerson took over as Clarkesville City Manager Jan. 2, replacing Barbara Kesler who resigned last August, saying she planned to spend more time with her extended family and assist her husband with his business in Toccoa.

*Floyd H. Baldwin, president of Gainesville-based Industrial Properties Group, Inc., has been sworn in as the new president of the Georgia Chapter of SIOR, the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.   His one-year term will run through the end of this year.
