A prayer vigil will be held tonight at the grave of Elaine Nix, on the 20th anniversary of the discovery of the Gainesville teen's body, nine days after she was last heard from.
Her nude body was found September 29, 1999, behind a building in northern Gwinnett County. Her killer or killers have still not been identified.
The last known contact with Nix was from a payphone at a convenience store on Candler Road just south of Gainesville. She was 18 at the time.
Tonight's prayer vigil begins at 7:00 at her grave at Memorial Park Cemetery.
A notice on the Elaine Nix Memorial Page on Facebook announcing tonight's observance reads, in part, "...still no answers so please come to support her friends and family as we remember what a beautiful life and beautiful girl, that was taken from us too soon #JusticeForElaineNix."
