DAHLONEGA — Dawson County held Lumpkin County to 72 total yards en route to a 45-0 blowout win Friday night at The Burial Grounds.
It was the Tigers (4-1) fifth straight win over the Indians (1-4).
Dawson jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead off a 36-yard Caleb Bonesteel field goal and a Riley Herdon 23-yard punt return for a score in the first quarter.
Isaiah Grindle added to the lead with back-to-back scores, an 11-yard and a 34-yard touchdown runs. Grindle also caught a Zack Holtzclaw pass later in the second quarter for a 23-yard score. Grindle finished the night with five carries for 68 yards and two touchdowns and one catch for 23 yards and a TD.
Keegan Stover, in for Holtzclaw added the Tigers' final score when he hit Dyer on a 36-yard strike before halftime.
Dawson outgunned Lumpkin 374 - 72 yards.
Holtzclaw as 6-for-8 with 149 yards and two touchdowns. Dakohta Sonnichsen hauled in three catches for 105 yards.
The Tigers welcome East Hall to Tiger Stadium Friday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
Lumpkin County is off.
