Blair, Clanton, Lanigan take WoO LMS weekend victories

By Jordan DeLucia

Max Blair, Shane Clanton and Darrell Lanigan all scored World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series victories over the weekend.

Blair was the winner on Thursday night at Stateline Speedway in Jamestown New York, while Clanton won on Friday night at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, New York. Lanigan scored the victory on Saturday night at Pennsylvania’s Selinsgrove Speedway.

On Friday night, Max Blair led every lap en route to his second career series victory over Darrell Lanigan and Dave Hess.

“I literally grew up here,” Blair said. “And that’s what this is all about. I’ve got tens of thousands more laps at this place than any of these guys do, and obviously that gives me a big advantage.”

“I love this place. They’re doing a heck of a job up here. For what this facility was five years ago to what the new owners have brought it to, it really is amazing,” Blair added.

Brandon Sheppard finished in fourth, with Chub Frank in fifth.

On Friday, Shane Clanton outran Brandon Sheppard to score his fourth series win of the season in the series’ second ever visit to Outlaw Speedway.

“We’ve been working really hard to get what we’ve got tonight,” Clanton said after the race. “Hopefully, we can carry this momentum through the rest of the year.”

The Zebulon, Georgia racer held the lead through several caution flags, standing up to the challenge before holding off Sheppard for the victory.

“I could go wherever I wanted to. The top, the bottom, it didn’t matter, Clanton said. “Wherever they were at, I was able to go where they weren’t,” Clanton said. “That’s what it takes to get through traffic. Our car is really balanced right now. Hopefully we can keep it up.”

Sheppard, Chase Junghans, Cade Dillard and Dennis Erb rounded out the top five.

On Saturday, Darrell Lanigan scored his 73rd career series feature win at Selinsgrove Speedway.

Leading all 40 laps, the Union, Kentucky native fended off the stiff competition of Ricky Weiss and Brandon Sheppard for the win.

“It feels awesome. Our car’s been awesome this weekend. We’ve been working hard in the shop and found some stuff on the car we needed to fix, and we’re definitely going in the right direction now,” Lanigan said after the race.

Ricky Weiss finished in second, with Brandon Sheppard in third, Shane Clanton in fourth and Gregg Satterlee in fifth.
