BUFORD — Senior Ansleigh Hollifield tossed a complete-game, three-hitter to lead Buford to a 4-1 win over Loganville Monday in a crucial Region 8-5A matchup at the Buford Softball Complex.
The victory improved the Lady Wolves to 13-9 overall, 3-1 in Region 8-5A play.
In a crucial Region 8-5A match-up, Buford banged out nine hits as Hollifield helped herself early driving in the Lady Wolves' first run in the first inning. Buford scored single runs in the second, third, and sixth innings. Loganville (5-17, 1-3) scored its only run in the third.
Senior Kara Taylor and junior Emi Hall had two hits each and combined for two RBI. Freshman Olivia Duncan also had a double for Buford.
Buford will continue its region schedule this week. The Lady Wolves will play host to Clark Central on Tuesday. A win over the Lady Gladiators would set up a showdown on Thursday against Walnut Grove on the road on Thursday for the region title.
