LILBURN — After two weeks to stew over its first loss of the 2019 season, Commerce took out any pent up frustrations on Providence Christian Friday night.
The Tigers blew away the Storm 49-9 behind its punishing triple-option and an opportunistic defense that scored 9 points and created several turnovers.
Elijah Burns had an all-around big night scoring on a 47-yard run and recording a safety and returning a fumble for a touchdown for the Tigers (3-1).
Sam Roach had 78 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries for Commerce. Tyelon Brock had a 34-yard TD reception and Michael Sherman had 75 yards rushing, including a 55-yard touchdown run.
Trey Huff had an interception on defense for the Tigers.
