Stockton leads Wildcats past Stephens County, 44-7

TOCCOA — Gunner Stockton and the Wildcats were unstoppable in a 44-7 rout of Stephens County Friday night at The Reservation.

Stockton was 22-of-31 passing for 233 yards and three touchdowns and rushed 17 times for 102 yards and a score in the Rabun County's blowout win. 

Brody Jarrard finished the night with eight carries for 89 yards.

Braxton Hicks caught seven passes for 94 yards and Sam Adams hauled in 53 yards and two touchdowns.

Stockton and the Wildcats went to work quick, bursting out to a 23-7 halftime lead off a 5-yard run,  a 9-yard pass to Tate Ramey, a safety and a Mason Sprinkle 20-yard fumble recovery return for a TD.

The Wildcats continued to work like a well-oiled machine in the second half, recovering another Stephens County fumble. Hunter Moore returned the fumble 32 yards for the scored with 11:52 to go in the third quarter.

Stockton hooked up with Sam Adams for the Wildcats’ last two scores, a 16-yard pass and 12-yard pass.

Rabun County (3-0) will open Region 8-2A play Friday night at home against Putnam County.
