Prep Football: Mother Nature wreaks havoc across northeast Georgia

Mother Nature was not a high school football fan on Friday night. A band of storms rolled through northeast Georgia and forced the cancellation or postponement of several games across the region.

-- Habersham Central coach Benji Harrison was the first to confirm the Raiders vs. Franklin County game has been postponed to Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m.

-- Flowery Branch was leading Winder-Barrow 7-0 when school officials made the decision to call the game. The game will not be rescheduled.

-- Cherokee Bluff was trailing Athens Academy 13-0 with 3 minutes left in the first quarter when storms hit again. The game will not be rescheduled. 

-- The Jefferson vs. Southside, SC game has been canceled and will not be made up.

-- Jackson County and Apalachee have rescheduled for tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.

-- Banks County and East Jackson will play tomorrow night. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.

-- Lakeview Academy will travel to St. Francis on Monday. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
