*Rosa Clara Gable received the Anne Warren Thomas Volunteer Award at last week's Good News Clinics annual fundraiser and awards banquet, and Dr. Jeannette Velazquez received the Sam Poole Award.

*The Braselton farmers market moves to a monthly schedule for the fall, beginning Friday, September 20, on the patio of the Braselton Brothers store downtown.

*Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Calendar of Events.

*The Georgia Mountains Regional Commission’s Career Coach will visit the Good Samaritan Food Bank in Gainesville on Wednesday, September 25,  and Friday, September 27,  from 9 AM – 11 AM.   Experts will be on hand to help job seekers search and apply for jobs, write resumes and cover letters, discern their career interests, and learn about job training funding. There is no charge for these services.

*Piedmont College Theatre opens its 2019-2020 season with the Tony award-winning musical Cabaret. Performances are 7:30 p.m., October 3-5 and 2 p.m., Oct. 6 at Swanson Center Mainstage Theater. *Helen Arts & Heritage Center Calendar of Events.

*The Gwinnett County Police Department is joining the Neighbors App by Ring in an effort to reduce crime in Gwinnett County. This app allows police to inform the community of crime and safety events.  To download, ext gwinnett to 555888 or visit: https://download.ring.com/gwinnettcounty. Neighbors is also available on the app store.

*In celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Day, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources will host a free Outdoor Adventure Day at Unicoi State Park September 28.  This event, which will run from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., will feature a multitude of outdoor activities for the whole family.

*The Stephens County Sheriff's Office is hosting the "BushBond" 10k/5k/Fun Run. This event will raise money for the Georgia Sheriff’s Youth Homes.  It will be held Sept. 21.  To register to run go to active.com or you can pick up a registration form at any of the Sheriff's office locations.
