Abit and Kayanne Massey will be honored by Good News Clinics Sept. 12 at its annual fundraising dinner.
The Masseys will be recognized for their "outstanding contribution to the wellbeing of the Gainesville community," according to a Good News news release.
In addition to honoring the Masseys, the event will also highlight volunteer service by celebrating the recipients of the Sam Poole and Anne Warren Thomas Volunteer of the Year awards.
“As the Good News Clinics’ only fall fundraising event, this is an important opportunity to bring awareness of all the services the Clinics offers to the community,” stated Liz Coates, Executive Director of Good News Clinics. “But the work we are able to do at the Clinics would be impossible without the tireless contribution of our volunteers—the healthcare providers and office support staff—who live out their call to serve all people, regardless of means, with health needs in Gainesville.”
Encompassing holistic care for the medical, dental, mental, vision and spiritual health of every patient, Good News Clinics served approximately 3,500 patients in serious need in 2018. The Clinics provided 29,170 patient appointments and roughly $19 million in services to the Hall county community during the last fiscal year. All funding for services comes from grants, donations, and fundraising efforts through their major events, including the Fall fundraising dinner and the Derby Day event in the spring.
