Stacey Abrams is bringing her fight against voter suppression nationwide to Habersham County Sept. 17.
Abrams will speak at the Habersham Recreation Center in Clarkesville at 5:45, according to Bette Holland, Chairwoman of the Dawson County Democratic Party Committee. Prior to that, at 5:25, her Fair Fight Action Team will make a presentation.
Abrams will be making stops across north Georgia that day and will be joined by 9th District Democratic Party County chairs and 2019 and 2020 candidates. Since losing last year's Georgia gubernatorial race to Republican Brian Kemp, Abrams and the Fair Fight Action Team have been targeting alleged voter suppression in Georgia and elsewhere in the country.
Organizers are asking for a donation from each attendee to cover the cost of the event; proceeds, they say, will go to 9th District county chairs.
