East Hall High School plans Military Appreciation Night

Prior to Friday night's football game, East Hall High School will recognize anyone who is serving in the military or has served.

"Military Appreciation NIght" is being held in conjunction with the Northeast Georgia Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans Association and will begin at 7:00 with the playing of the anthems of the five branches of the armed forces.

Features include:

*94- and 92-year-old World War II combat veterans being driven onto the field in a Jeep;

*East Hall HS Navy Junior ROTC Color Guard;

*A team of 60 JROTC cadets displaying Camping World’s 3200 square foot US flag on the field;

*A performance of “God Bless America” by the East Hall Chorus & Viking Band;

*A performance by the Viking Band of The National Anthem sung by a former Drill Sergeant and retired Army 1st Sergeant who’s now Principal of East Hall Middle School, Dr. Jefferey Chandler;

*Uniformed service members from the Army, Marine Corps, and Navy;

*Representatives from the GA Department of Veterans Services and the Birdwell Foundation for PTSD will be on hand to provide information on receiving benefits and treatment.

The ceremony will be followed at 7:30 by kickoff of the game against Woodland of Cartersville.
