By AccessWDUN Staff

Macy Banks was 3-for-4 with two RBIs at the plate and pitched seven scoreless innings in East Hall's 4-0 win over Madison County Wednesday on the road.

Banks picked up the win in the circle, allowing two hits and striking out four in the complete-game performance.

East Hall (10-3) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning and added one run in the third and one in the fifth inning.

Gracie Ausborn and Alexis Burce both hammered out hits in the Lady Vikings 12-hit win.

It was a classic pitcher's duel Wednesday night as Buford's Ansleigh Hollifield and Wesleyan's Madison Kerpics combined for 24 strikeouts, but Wesleyan found a way to bring two runs home to edge the Wolves at the Buford Softball Complex.

Hollifield struck out a career-high 13 batters, while Kerpics, a Georgia-commit, struck out 11.

Wesleyan scored one run in the first and one in the third.

Buford finally ripped a hit off Kerpics in the fifth inning when freshman Emma Castorri's hit was just out of the reach of the shortstop.

Buford (9-6) will travel to North Forsyth on Monday. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
