*United Way of Hall County's annual campaign gets underway Sept. 18 at 11:30 with a kickoff luncheon at the Brenau Downtown Center.

*Groundbreaking will be held Sept. 3 at 4:00 for a new Georgia State Patrol post in Gwinnett County.  It will be located at the site of an old rest area on I-85 in Suwanee.  It will replace the office on Pleasant Hill Road. Carroll Daniel Construction Company was the low bidder on the $5.2 million project.

*Karli Greenfield has been named Director of Financial Aid for Truett McConnell University.  Greenfield's experience in the field of financial aid includes serving as a financial aid counselor at both Truett McConnell and Toccoa Falls College, 

*Latino Fest is coming to downtown Gainesville Sept. 15, 5:00-9:00 p.m.  Sponsored by the Hispanic Alliance of Georgia, it will feature music, dancing, vendors, and local Latino artists, who will be selling and exhibiting their works.  

*The Jackson County’s Cattleman’s Association recently raised $64,000 for the county's new Agriculture Facility.

*The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce's Beautification Committee is seeking nominations for Fall 2019 Business Beautification Awards of Excellence.  To nominate your business or another, contact Robin Halstead, Vice President of Community Development, 770-532-6206 x 100.  Email:  rhalstead@ghcc.com.

*Students, faculty and staff at Tallulah Falls School now have access to a new Sports Fitness Center designed to enhance physical fitness and athletic performance. The facility features specialized exercise equipment.

*Construction activity for the I-85 Widening project will require lane closures this week along the corridor in Gwinnett, Barrow, and Jackson counties.
