MARYVILLE, Tenn. — After dropping its season opener on Friday, the Piedmont College women's soccer team rebounded with a 2-0 win over Birmingham-Southern on the final day of the Maryville Tournament.

An Anslyn Stamps' corner kick setup the opening goal for Piedmont (1-1-0) as freshman Kaylee King was able to find the back of the net for her first collegiate goal.

BSC (0-2-0) stayed even with Piedmont for the remainder of the half, trailing 6-5 in shots at the break.

Following halftime, the Lady Lions' offense took over and outshot the Panthers 10-1 in the final 45. Piedmont extended its lead to 2-0 in the 57th minute after junior CASSIE KIRK placed the ball in the top right corner from close to 10 yards out for the Lady Lions' second shot of the half.

Piedmont's depth proved to be effective as 30 players saw the field with 11 taking at least one shot.

For their efforts, freshman Anya Olson and Kirk were named to the All-Tournament team following the win.

Veronica Cappas led all players with four shots while Olson and Aria Solano each had two.
