*A sewage spill in Cumming this week sent 7,535 gallons of wastewater into Kelly Mill Branch.  It happened near 375 Canton Road.  City officials say it was caused by rags and gravel partially-blocking a sewer line.

*PruittHealth, the parent company of The Oaks–Limestone, PruittHealth @ Home and PruittHealth Hospice-Gainesville, celebrates 50 years of service to the community Wednesday, Sept. 4.

*The Georgia Mountains Regional Commission’s Career Coach will visit the Spout Springs Library in Flowery Branch on Wednesday, September 11, from 10 AM – 2 PM.  Experts will be on hand to help job-seekers search and apply for jobs, write resumes and cover letters, discern their career interests, and learn about funding for training.  There is no charge for these services.  It will also visit the Cumming Library on Sept. 5 from 10 AM - 2 PM.

*Katherine Freund, Founder and President, ITNAmerica, will be in Gainesville Sept. 26 to speak at ITNLanier’s 2nd Annual Supporter Reception, “Eat Dessert First,” at 5:30 at Grace Episcopal Church.  ITNLanier provides transportation to seniors in the area.

*Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School and Rabun Gap Presbyterian Church held The Songs of Hope Benefit Concert on July 26, raising more than $6,000 for the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund and Cancer Blows.
