The Georgia Department of Transportation recently announced the long-awaited opening of Exit 14 off I-985 - or at least a portion of it.
According to GDOT spokeswoman Katie Strickland, all four ramps on and off Exit 14 are scheduled to open on September 3, but the exit’s overpass bridge will remain closed to traffic while some renovations continue.
The nearly $34 million project will be dedicated as "The Atlanta Falcons Training Facility Interchange."
"The new interchange will reduce travel times, increase safety for the traveling public, and enhance economic development in and around the county," Strickland said.
Strickland said motorists should watch out for new signage and drive alert while traveling the I-985 corridor in the upcoming weeks.
