*Nearly 300 students walked in the summer 2019 commencement ceremony recently on the University of North Georgia's Dahlonega Campus and more than 500 degrees and certificates were conferred on undergraduates and graduate students.

*As work continues on the widening of I-85 along the Barrow/Gwinnett/Jackson county corridor, more lane closures will be necessary this week.

*The Longstreet Society is planning three days of activities in October as part of the observance of the 25th anniversary of the Gainesville-based group.  Click here for complete details. 

*A new product launch August 15 at the Super-Sod store in Alpharetta will include a fundraiser for Camp Twin Lakes in Barrow County.  The camp is for children with serious disabilities and illnesses and other life challenges.  In addition, a Let's Grow Together fundraising kit will be available for schools, churches, non-profits, and other group fundraising needs.

*Forsyth County Parks & Recreation is seeking vendors to participate in the 17th annual Play at the Park Family Fun Festival which will be held at Fowler Park Saturday, Sept. 28.   Vendor applications will be accepted through Friday, Sept. 13. *The finale of the dragon trilogy by DreamWorks Animation films, "How to Train Your Dragon 3," is the free movie on the Town Green in Braselton on Saturday, August 17.  These movies are presented by the Braselton Visitors Bureau and there is no charge to attend.
