By Series PR

SUMMERTOWN, Tenn. - It may have taken a couple of extra hours thanks to Mother Nature, but it was worth the wait for Ashton Winger, as he scored the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series victory on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, Tennessee.

The win in the King of the Hill 40 was worth $4,000 for the Senoia, Georgia driver, as he recorded his first career series victory in his 16th start.

Winger took the lead on a restart from Dane Dacus, and drove to the win. Behind him, the field battled for position, with Dacus coming home in second. Josh Putnam followed in third, with David Breazeale in fourth and Riley Hickman in fifth.

Christian Hanger, Billy Franklin, Scott Cook, Ray McElhiney and Austin Arnold rounded out the top ten.

The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series returns to action on Saturday, August 10 at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama. Visit SASDirt.com for more information.
