Young Hudson Justus takes 5th at US Kids World Championship

PINEHURST, N.C. — Gainesville 7-year-old Hudson Justus is at it again.

The Mt. Vernon Exploratory second-grader finished fifth at the US Kids World Championship Golf tournament.

Justus was part of over 1,500 players from over 50 different countries tournament-wide. He was part of a 107-field of golfers in the boys 7-year-old bracket.

Justus finished with a 2-over par after shooting rounds of 35, 38 and 37 and played with competitors from Ecuador, England, Florida, and New Jersey.

In July, Justus also qualified for the GSGA Chip, Pitch and Putt Skills Challenge which will be held at East Lake the Sunday of the FedEx Cup Championship on August 24. He also qualified for the Drive Chip and Putt local qualifier and he will go to the subregionals at Bobby Jones in Buckhead on August 17.

The top five finishers in the 7-year-old bracket were: 

1. Axel Monssoh (Florida)
2. Trebor Melendez (New Jersey)
T3. Neal Manutai (Hawaii)
T3. Caiden Westbroek (Florida)
T5. Hudson Justus (Georgia)
T5. Blake Nakagawa (Hawaii)

In 2018, Justus's first year competing in the worldwide event, he finished tied for seventh place in the 6-and-under division.
