Changes to large South Hall development to be voted on Thursday

A set of changes to a large proposed mixed-use development on Ga. 211 in south Hall County are set to be voted on by county commissioners Thursday.

Reveille Development Partners, LLC is looking to amend the conditions of the property's rezoning to accommodate new plans for the site. Commissioners approved the rezoning for more than 500 acres on the east side of Ga. 211 at Howington Road in 2016, changing the property to a mix of Planned Commercial Development and Planned Residential Development.

Hall County Planning Director Srikanth Yamala said Reveille has submitted plans that would include roughly 300 fewer homes and less commercial space. The vote has been scheduled for several previous county commission meetings but has been tabled as Reveille has reportedly continued to work with county staff and local residents.

Yamala said there has been no indication that the request will be tabled this week.

"As far as I'm concerned, it's still on the agenda for Thursday, although things could change," Yamala said after Monday's commission work session.

The Hall County Planning Commission recommended approval of the new site plans in March after over an hour of discussion. The original rezoning approved in 2016 was under a previous developer that failed to gather enough investors to build the project.

The Hall County Commission will meet Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the Hall County Government Center on Browns Bridge Road.
