Sugarloaf CID installs license plate reader/cameras

The Sugarloaf Community Improvement District has now installed automated license plate readers with the help of Gwinnett County Police.

AJC reports the readers and cameras are strategically placed around the CID and are provided by Flock Safety.  They are said to be able detect a vehicle's make, model, color and of course, license plate.

Under an agreement with Gwinnett Police, the CID will be able to provide video and information to the police when they are looking for something specific.

The cameras have been credited with locating people who are wanted by authorities and also have assisted in located subjects of Amber Alerts and Mattie's Calls.
