James magazine: Lanier Tech, Piedmont among state's top-ranked colleges, universities

Lanier Technical College and Piedmont College are among the state's top-ranked colleges and universities, according to James magazine.

Other northeast Georgia schools cited in the report include the University of North Georgia, Brenau University and Young Harris College.

Piedmont tops the list of privates colleges and universities in the state, while Lanier Tech heads the list of technical colleges.  Young Harris shows up in the seventh spot among privates institutions and Brenau comes in tenth. 

According to the report, which is in the magazine's July/August "Education" issue, the top college or university in Georgia is Emory University.

The Georgia-based magazine covers business, education, and politics in the Peach State.
