*Lane closures will start Sunday night on the State Route 365 Commerce/Athens exit onto State Route 15/US 441 to allow maintenance work on the State Route 15/US 441 bridge over South Fork Mud Creek.  Nightly 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m. through Wednesday.

*Gov. Brian Kemp conducted swearing-in ceremonies Friday for members of the Board of Commissioners of the Superior Court Clerks’ Retirement System of Georgia.  Banks County Clerk of Superior Courts Timothy Harper was among them.   Also sworn in at the same time was a member of the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, Jennifer Sheffield-Wade, a Special Ed teacher at Lumpkin County Middle School.

*David Shafer, newly elected Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, will be the guest speaker at a meeting of the the White County Republican Party on Monday, July 15, in the Roy Ash Community Room in Cleveland.  Meeting begins at 6:30.

*Braselton Town Council members Becky Richardson and Hardy Johnson earned certificates of achievement at the recent Georgia Municipal Association’s annual convention.

*State Rep. Kevin Tanner (R-Dawsonville), Chairman of the House Transportation Committee, was recently honored by the Georgia Planning Association with the Distinguished Elected Leadership Award. Tanner was recognized for his legislative efforts to improve transportation and transit in metro Atlanta and throughout Georgia.
