*Plans by McEver Road United Methodist Church to relocate to Flowery Branch are scheduled to be heard by the Flowery Branch City Council Thursday night.   At an earlier meeting, the council deferred action on the matter.

*Alejandro Campo of Flowery Branch High School, Alyssa Ramos of Johnson High, Katelyn Sheridan of North Gwinnett, and Ahema Gaisie of Gwinnett School of Mathematics & Technology represented Jackson EMC on this summer' Washington Youth Tour.  

*Do you have hard-to-dispose-of items like paints, pesticides, and batteries stacking up around your house? If so, you can get rid of them free of charge at the Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources’ second annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day July 20 from 8 a.m. until noon at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds. *Hardman Farm’s signature event of the year will be held July 27 starting at 5:00 p.m.  Hardman Farm in Clarkesville is Georgia's newest state historic site and is celebrating nearly 150 years of harvest at the second annual Hardman Farm to Table Dinner.  Reservations can be made by calling the Visitors Center, 706-878-1077, Thursday-Monday (10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.). Cost is $85/person.

*The Arts Council presents the Grains of Sand, in its Farewell Tour, July 19 at 8 pm on the lawn of The Arts Council Smithgall Arts Center in Gainesville.  Gates will open at 6 pm for picnickers. *July 21 will be Volunteer Sunday at Don Carter State Park.  The work will involve maintaining trails and the chestnut orchard.
