Details remain scarce, but a shooting in the yard of a home in Habersham County resulted in the death of one man shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday.
The incident, at 3848 Antioch Church Road, a Toccoa address inside Habersham County, was dispatched about 10:45 p.m.
“The male victim is deceased, and the male shooter is in custody,” said Sheriff’s Capt. Floyd Canup from the scene. “This is not a domestic violence situation, but they do know each other.”
Canup said the suspect surrendered without incident once deputies made contact with him upon their arrival at the scene.
Habersham County Sheriff’s Office will handle the investigation, according to Canup.
“It’s still early in the investigation,” Canup said, adding more information could be released sometime Friday.
