NICHOLS, S.C. - Dennis Franklin held off Trent Ivey to score the Ultimate Super Late Model Series victory at Lake View Motor Speedway in Nichols, South Carolina on Saturday night.
The two-time series champion from Gaffney, South Carolina collected a $4,000 payday for his win in the 40-lap feature in the first visit by the series to the 4/10-mile dirt track.
Franklin started the night by setting fast time in qualifying with a lap at 16.824 seconds. He then outdistanced Ivey for the victory, with John Henderson in third, Daulton Wilson in fourth and Corey Gordon in fifth.
Donald Bradsher, Brett Hamm, Derrick Ramey, Jeff Smith and Zack Mitchell rounded out the top ten.
Mitchell, Ben Watkins and Ramey scored heat race wins.
