Report: UGA WR Holloman kicked off the team

By Bo Wilson Sports Editor

Georgia's leading returning receiver, Jeremiah Holloman, is no longer with the team, according to a report by dawgs247.com

Georgia coach Kirby Smart, in a statement released by the school Friday, said Holloman "no longer represents the University of Georgia football program."

"We expect every member of our team to uphold the highest standards and values of the University of Georgia and Georgia football. It is disappointing when this does not happen.”

Covington News first reported that Holloman was dismissed due to an incident that occurred before the 2018 G-Day spring scrimmage. The alleged victim filed the report on June 2.

The report says that Holloman 'punched her in the face.' The alleged victim required six stitches, according to the report.

It's a big blow to the Bulldogs, who lost most of their receiving corp to graduation and the NFL Draft in the spring.

Mecole Hardman Jr. and Riley Ridley chose to skip out on their senior seasons and enter the draft and Terry Godwin graduated. With the departure of the trio, the Bulldogs lost their three top receivers. Tight end Isaac Nauta also left for the draft.

Holloman was expected to be the Bulldogs top wideout. At 6-2, 200 pounds, the junior was set to have a potential breakout season.

The loss now opens up the door for junior Demetris Robertson, Lawrence Cager, a graduate transfer, and true freshmen Dominick Blaylock and George Pickens to make a name for themselves.
