Public help needed with information in Commerce house fire

Fire investigators in Jackson County hope the public can offer more information about a home that burned to the ground in Commerce.

The fire happened early Tuesday morning when a home on Laura Lane burned and collapsed into the basement. The home was built 12 years ago. 

The State Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner's Office said the residents were not home during the blaze.

The fire has not been ruled arson, but anyone with knowledge about this fire should call the Georgia Arson Hotline at 1‐800‐282‐5804.

Rewards are offered of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of an arsonist(s).

Calls are taken 24 hours a day and callers can choose to remain anonymous.
