Rabun officials cancel lookout, say suspect has been arrested without incident

A man Rabun County Sheriff Chad Nichols identified as "armed and dangerous" Thursday night was arrested without incident early Friday in the Lakemont area north of Tallulah Falls.

Terry Lee Williams, 44, of Key Lane, is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, terroristic threats and acts, and battery under the Family Violence Act in connection with a domestic violence incident in Rabun County Wednesday night.

“On the night of June 5, deputies responded to a residence off of Key Lane in reference to a family violence incident,” a statement from Nichols states. “Upon arrival to the area, deputies met with the victim, who had visible injuries and indicated that the suspect had left on foot."

Deputies initially were unable to locate Williams.

“Williams was spotted on Camp Creek Road on June 6 with a weapon in his possession,” Nichols said. “This resulted in the Code Red and social media notifications.”

Camp Creek Road is located off U.S. 441/Ga. 15 in the Lakemont community.

No further details have been released.
