Gainesville first responders reach out to local veteran

By Scott Kimbler Reporter

Over Memorial Day weekend, a group of Gainesville first responders reached out to help a local veteran.

The Gainesville Fire Department said Sunday first responders answered a call to a home of a World War II veteran.

According to the department Facebook page, the responders realized there was work that needed done at the home of the aged man, so after the call Todd Summer, Jonathan Benton, Noe Guajardo, Danny Nguyen and Ashley Mashburn returned to Station #2, retrieved the necessary equipment and returned to the home to remove limbs and leaves from the roof, trim hedges, edge the driveway and blew the yard and driveway.
