SEC announces Bulldogs’ home, road foes

By Georgia Sports Communications

ATHENS — Georgia will face Kentucky and Texas A&M on a home-and-home basis and host Alabama, Arkansas, Ole Miss and Tennessee at Stegeman Coliseum during the 2019-20 season, it was announced by the Southeastern Conference on Wednesday.

The league revealed each team’s two rotating home-and-home opponents, as well as the locations of contests versus their single-game opponent.

The Bulldogs’ SEC road trips will be to LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri and Vanderbilt. Rounding out the 18-game slate Georgia faces permanent “rivals” Auburn, Florida and South Carolina twice every season.

Seven of the nine SEC teams that will visit Stegeman Coliseum reached postseason play in 2019. Five of those – Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Tennessee – earned NCAA Tournament bids. In addition, Alabama and Arkansas participated in the NIT.

“I am extremely excited about this season’s SEC home schedule,” head coach Tom Crean said. “The Bulldog Nation gave us tremendous support last season. I’m still blown away by the fact we broke our total attendance record and had sellouts for just about every SEC game. We need to continue to build on those numbers and this SEC schedule is one I know our fans can get excited about.”

Deposits for season tickets to the Bulldogs’ 2019-20 home schedule are only $50 and can be made by calling 706-542-1231 or by visiting Last season, Crean’s first season at Georgia, the Bulldogs broke their all-time total attendance record by more than 9,000 fans.

This season, the Bulldogs will return five letter winners, including starters Rayshaun Hammonds and Jordan Harris. Crean also will welcome a top-5 recruiting class featuring five of the nation’s top-100 prospects. That quintet includes Anthony Edwards, who is ranked No. 1 or No. 2 nationally by virtually every scouting service; Christian Brown (No. 60 by; Jaykwon Walton (No. 67 by; Sahvir Wheeler (No. 76 by; and Toumani Camara (No. 96 by and in the composite). The Bulldogs also will add graduate transfer Donnell Gresham, who helped lead Northeastern to the NCAA Tournament last sp
