Forsyth County authorities are on the lookout for the driver of a motorcycle that was involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident Sunday morning.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department were dispatched to Dahlonega Highway near Pilgrim Road around 3:38 a.m., where Deputy 1st Class Jenny Belafi says they were alerted to a possible fatality involving a pedestrian.
Upon their arrival, authorities found Jose D. Ramirez Labra, 27, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dep. Belafi says they also discovered a "damaged black and green Kawasaki ZX1000 motorcycle" that had been abandoned on the side of the roadway. She said the driver had fled the scene, and was currently being sought by authorities.

A Forsyth County man was killed in a hit-and-run accident Sunday, and a fundraiser is underway to help cover the cost of his funeral expenses.
Jose Ramirez, 27, was struck by a vehicle while walking along Dahlonega Highway during the early morning hours, and, according to a GoFundMe page set up by his family, died as a result of his injuries.
While no confirmation has been received from local law enforcement, the fundraiser said that an investigation into the incident remains open at the time of publication.
The website said that Ramirez is survived by his wife and two daughters, and asked for donations that would help cover the cost of his funeral expenses at McDonald and Son Funeral Home
