DNR's northeast Georgia Region supervisor promoted, joins agency's command staff

​The man who has been in charge of the state's law enforcement operations on Lake Lanier for several years has been named a member the Georgia Department of Natural Resources' Command Staff at headquarters in Social Circle.

In addition, Captain Johnny Johnson, a 31-year DNR veteran, has been promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.  In his new role, he fills the vacancy created when Lt. Col. Jeff Weaver retired a few weeks ago.

Johnson is a Whitfield County native who lives in Lumpkin County.
