The Georgia State Patrol is investigating an three-vehicle accident apparently caused by a transport van belonging to the Hall County Detention Center.
Sgt. Auston Allen said the van, driven by 25-year old deputy Edgard Gonzalez, ran into the back of a Toyota that was stopped on E. E. Butler Parkway.
The impact caused the Toyota to strike the back of a Yukon stopped on the roadway in front of it.
Allen said nine of the inmates inside the transport van suffered minor injuries and received treatment at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
No other drivers or passengers were injured.
