Rangers to hold annual water jump training event

People may notice a flurry of activity around the War Hill Park area of Dawsonville Wednesday and Thursday.
Dawson County officials say the 5th Ranger Training Battalion will host their annual water jump training exercise Thursday.
However, the park will be closed starting Wednesday afternoon as the battalion and local emergency crews will conduct training rehearsals.
The Rangers plan to jump into Lake Lanier from helicopters Thursday, weather permitting.
The event may delay boat traffic in the area in order to ensure the safety of parachutists.
