Teacher at Athens school arrested for having inappropriate relationship with student

A 23-year-old math teacher from Clarke Central High School in Athens was arrested this week on charges of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.
 
Athens-Clarke County Police arrested Kara Elizabeth Coalson on Tuesday, according to a press statement from the department. She was booked on a sexual assault charge and was released the same day on a bond of $11,200.
 
A report in the Athens-Banner Herald said school officials made police aware of the incident on April 17. While the alleged offense is said to have taken place off campus, authorities gave no details on the what they called a "potentially inappropriate incident."
 
Jail reports indicate Coalson is from Cumming.
